"Endless Summer Oceanfront Escape" is located on the first floor of a gorgeous, direct oceanfront, duplex home, and is a short 5 minute stroll through our quiet and friendly neighborhood to beautiful, white sand, Makaha Beach. This property exudes paradise! Breathtaking, nightly sunsets, oceanfront dining/cocktails, whale watching, epic surfing, napping in the hammock, picking fresh limes/bananas from the garden, star-gazing, full moon sets, and falling asleep to the waves are just a few of the highlights of this tranquil property. The large, grassy backyard and super-comfortable and spacious lanais offer prime spots for viewing the most amazing sunsets and moonsets, breaching whales and spinning dolphins, and the night sky full of stars. The gated property offers a lush tropical garden with paths meandering through a variety of tropical flowers and mature lime and banana trees. But hands down, our guests' favorite feature of the "Endless Summer" home and property is falling asleep at night just 45 feet from the high tide line while listening to the waves of the ocean and smelling the fresh salt water from their peaceful oceanfront bedrooms! Our small town offers lots of fun activities throughout O'ahu for all ages, including surf and SUP lessons, dolphin excursions, massages, sport fishing, hiking, scuba diving, sunset sailing, yoga, and so much more!

 

What's included: Guests will enjoy the entire, private access first floor guest vacation unit, which features two oceanfront bedrooms, one full bathroom, an oceanfront living room, kitchen area, laundry room, oceanfront lower lanai, upper lanai (4pm to sunset), yard/garden, full-sized propane grill, fire pit, hammock, beach chairs, beach towels, coolers, umbrella, and electric-gated driveway. The unit contains everything guests need to prepare, cook, and enjoy their meals, such as a full-sized refrigerator, full-sized stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, electric hot plate, electric griddle, coffee pot, Keurig, blender, dishes, glassware, pots/pans, and utensils. The large, grassy oceanfront backyard contains a full-sized propane grill and a charcoal fire pit. The spacious upper lanai is a shared space with the owner and up to two guests who reside in the completely separate and independent second floor unit, and is a relaxing space to gather for sunset cocktails and talkin' story to find out hidden places to see and visit throughout O'ahu. Beach gear is provided for fun in the sun, such as beach towels, coolers, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, boogie boards, floats, sand toys, and more. Backyard toys and games are also provided, such as Corn Hole, soccer balls, volley balls, frisbees, etc. The large, electric-gated driveway provides plenty of free and safe parking for your rental vehicle.

 

Our small, rural town: Makaha offers a completely different feel from the fancy touristy hotels, skyscrapers, restaurants, and shopping, which can be found in busy Waikiki. Makaha is a rural/rustic community comprised predominantly of local families, stray cats, and chickens. We have the most pristine and secluded beaches, mountains, valleys, sunsets, and moon sets on the island! Nightlife in Makaha consists of sipping cocktails on the beach or the lanai at sunset, and grilling up some fresh local fish or veggies for dinner. "Endless Summer Oceanfront Escape" is one of the last few homes on the west side before the road ends.

 

Interaction with Guests: I have lived on O'ahu for 15 years and absolutely LOVE our island! I am extremely active and thoroughly enjoy adventuring and exploring our great outdoors! I would love to share information about my favorite beaches, hikes, excursions/adventures, sights, restaurants, etc. with you during your stay, or you are welcome to explore and relax on your own.

 

Getting Around: "Endless Summer Oceanfront Escape" is located 30 miles west of Honolulu International Airport. When possible, plan airline travel and daily excursions during typical, non-rush hour times. Due to Makaha's rural location and so you can sightsee at your own pace, I strongly suggest renting a vehicle during your stay. Our local restaurants are all within a short 5-10 minute drive of the home.

 

*Important note: If you prefer an enclosed, air-conditioned building without the sounds of the ocean, without the ocean breezes which will bring in the ocean spray and some of our infamous Hawaii red dirt, and without windows and doors that open to the natural, outdoor garden with beautiful foliage and yes, some critters found in nature, then please reserve a hotel or condo location instead. "Endless Summer Oceanfront Escape" is NOT a white-glove, fully updated, high end resort with hardwood floors, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. Here at "Endless Summer Oceanfront Escape," we embrace nature and the outdoors, and appreciate the "real-life" Hawaii-living beach house experience.
