House, 5 Bedrooms + 3 sofas, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

The Marsh House is a unique home located on Bayou Liberty in Slidell. Bayou Liberty joins Lake Pontchartrain and is one of the most scenic bayous in Louisiana providing an important bird sanctuary for many species, marshes, cypress tress, and moss-draped live oaks. Guests are welcome to bring their own boat(s) and use the 100-foot dock or rent boats in the area.

 

The 3,500 square foot home is spacious and perfect to entertain a large group in. There are two living rooms with wood-burning fireplaces ,a formal dining room accommodating 12, and a very large kitchen stocked with ample plates, glassware, pots and pans for large get-togethers. In addition, there is a screened porch off the living room with an outdoor stove and BBQ pit, an ideal setting for watching a sunset on the bayou. Above, there is even a moon deck. A very large yard makes for a makeshift family football game (football provided).

 

The Marsh House has a front and back porch which extends the length of the home. Off of these porches are 5 spacious bedrooms, 3 of which have kings, 2 have queens, and there is also a futon and baby's pack and play.

 

For fishing enthusiasts, the nearby Lake, as well as the bayou are teeming with speckled trout, redfish, crabs and other brackish water species. Fishing charters are available in the area. There are several fish markets in the area, if you would rather someone else do the fishing.

 

There are two public golf courses within a fifteen minute drive as well as a multi-plex Imax theater, swamp tours and other recreational attractions.

 

The Marsh House is close to visit New Orleans or the Gulf Coast - about 30 minutes away. It's a wonderful home for family reunions or just getting friends together. Laissez bon temps roulez!
